[Kenwood] TS-850 & TS-790 Shared Computer Interface?

Hi Kenwood fans,
I have both the TS-850 & the TS-790 and would like to control each via 
RS-232. I plan to build the interface as described in QST Feb. 1993, using 
parts available from Far Circuits. I read in the article that multiple 
radios can be connected to one interface, provided each radio is addressed 
individually. I haven't found any info in the manual for the 790 concerning 
addressing.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has done what I'm attempting. How are the 
radio addresses set or checked?
One other thing..where is the TS-850 manual available for download? I have 
the 790 manual in .pdf format, and the 850 service manual...but not the 850 
owner's manual.
