[Kenwood] TH-225 Mic question

Hi.
I have a Kenwood TH-225 that I would like to wire a mic up for when using it
here in the shack.
Yes, I know that some HT's vary as to how the mic is wired or what it wants
to "see" resistance wise for keying (It seems I recall that the HTX-202 that
I once had wanted a 2 K Ohm resistor in the keying line). Do these Kenwood
Xceivers use a three contact "stereo" 1/8 plug/ If so I "presume audio
would be on the "tip" and the keyline on the "ring", is that right?
What I plan on using is an old Low impedance CB mic hat I have here if it
produces reasonably good audio on transmit.
