I just found out that to get the LCD Screen replaced, Its going to cost, Screen is $215.00, plus shipping labour totals out at about $350.00. For another $200.00 I can buy the Icom 2720. What's upsetting is that Kenwood knows of this problem and will not do anything about it in Canada. From what I have been told by some of the people in the US they have had this work done at no cost.
