Tim,
They used to make an adapter that would save you the trouble of wiring 
up a mic connector.
I think in your case you would need a model MJ-48.   I have the reverse 
situation with a MC-60 mic to a TS-830S
so I use a MJ 84.    I'll bet someone on the reflector may have one to 
sell ya...  They are a little scarce but can be
found.   Might I suggest, however, that if you sold your MC-50 on Ebay 
and bought a MC-60,  you would be
all set with a 8 pin plug on the mic.   MC-60s are supposedly much 
better and the difference in cost isn't very much.
Just a thought.
