Do you leave it plugged in, or connected to a 12Volt source?
Mine has had this problem for years but it only appears when it is
disconnected from the power source for a lenghty period.
For example, when I go on vacation I turn off the 12volt power
supply to all my equipment. When I come back I have the problem
you describe, if I wait a while with the power connected - doesn't
matter if the radio is turned on or off - the problem goes away and
does not reccur unless I remove the power source. It doesn't matter
if it is plugged into the AC or the DC supply.
I have discussed this with some other owners who have exactly the
same results.
