[Kenwood] TS-930S Erratic VFO (Encoder problem?)

Mine did the same thing, would tune one way but not the other..a friend, N8KKR, aligned the optical encoder and it worked fine...later it stated again, he then went through the boards and resoldered a large number of connections...seems that the 930 and others were prone to solder joint failures, especially on the solder through joints, where connections go through both sides...it works fine now...well...need finals...good luck..
