[Kenwood] Request for info on TS-850 Tuner

Hi Duncan,

I did the above modification on my former 850sat. It works well,
particularly on 17m and 15m. Other bands were not significantly different
from non receive tuner.
To perform the modification, you will need Ts-850sat service manual and get
a copy of article "IMPROVED PERFORMANCE FOR THE KENWOOD TS 450S/AT
TRANSCEIVER" The article has been published in QST and in a ARRL Book, "
Hints and Kinks" 14th edition, page 1-18. Be careful, the entire wire
harness in 850 on top of the radio is quite messy. Also be ready to cut and
lengthened one of the cables! As i am not in possession of 850 any more I am
sorry that I could not pick up the cover and give you more accurate info's.
