[Kenwood] TM-261A Trasmit Problem

Wednesday morning I climbed into my truck and hit the power button on my =
261 to listen to the remainder of a conversation I had been following in =
the house on the 241.

The conversation ended and shortly thereafter I grabbed the mic to ask a =
question or simply announce my presence(I don't recall) and when I =
released the PTT the 261 remained in transmit ....
To get out of transmit I either have to remove the mic or cycle the =
power button ...=20
As far as I can tell all other mic functions seem to work just fine so I =
am at a loss for which way to go or what to look for.

Has anyone else ever encountered this problem?
Is there a quick fix or should I start looking for a new mic?
Is it something about the radio and I need to reset it?

Any previous experience is appreciated
