Kirk,

I'm guessing that you are using an average reading (RMS) type meter.

A true peak reading meter would probably show about 100 watts PEP. Your
key down CW reading is equal to the peak SSB reading, but an RMS type meter
is not capable of showing you the true peak power.

In short, don't worry about it. Sounds like your 930 is running about right
for
power out. Get your self a small amplifier, in the 500-800 watt class, if
you
are really serious about increasing the output of your system. Any increase
in power from the transceiver is not going to be enough to be noticeable.
There is more risk of damage to the finals if you tweak the rig, and small
amps
are cheap enough to be the best solution. Go to at least 500 watts if you
want a
noticeable jump.
