Hi.

This was pasted from http://www.mods.dk:

---

When adding additional filters, is is necessary to set the corresponding
switch on. Under the hatch on top, is a 4 position dip switch. The manual
shows a picture of it, but makes no mention of their settings. This switch
is necessary to inform the micro- processor of the filters' absence or
presence. ON is for presence, OFF is for absence. Below is the switch
diagram:
   -----
   | 4 | <-- YK-88C-1, YK-88CN-1, YK-88SN-1
   | 3 | <-- YK-88CN-1, YK-88CN-1, YK-88SN-1
   | 2 | <-- No Function
   | 1 | <-- YG-455C-1 or YG-455CN-1
   -----
   O O
   N F
       F

---

You should set 3 and 4 ON. Set 1 and 2 OFF. Number 2 is not used, so ON
should also be ok,
Let me know if you have any trouble since in my TS-850SAT I have all 3
positions with:

Position 1: YK-88C-1
Position 2: YK-88SN-1
Position 3: YG-455C-1

73s.

Subject: [Kenwood] 850 Filter Question

Hi Kenwood Folks,

I was recently thrust into 21st century equipment by the attitude of
Collins collectors and I have a question about my new to me TS 850 SAT.

I have installed the YK88C and YK88SN filters in it, in positions 1 and 2.
I am having a hard time figuring out which of the 4 switches to turn on. No
1 shows the C and the CN and position 4 is for the YG 455 filter. So do I
turn on position 2 for the YK 88SN ?

Thanks
