Darrel,

I would suggest trying a different IF-232C interface.
Two good links for homebrew IF-232C interfaces are:

Only CAT: http://tk5ep.free.fr/tech/ts850/if232/if232_g.htm

CAT and PSK31:
http://www.qsl.net/dg5dbz/kenwood_catpsk_interface/catpsk.html

The CAT circuit is the same and it can be built on a breadboard just for
testing.

Please let me know about your results.
Thanks.

Subject: [Kenwood] Interrupted TX with IF-232/TS-950

Hello Group...
    I'm using a TS-950SDX and the IF-232C interface.
I've noticed, and have been advised by people with whom I'm in QSO, that
my transmitted signal has a "blip" on it.
(I can also hear it by turning on the MONI switch.)
This "blip" shows on my power meter as a drop in output power, and it
only occurs when I'm running a logging program which polls the radio for
frequency and mode. I'm guessing that the "blip" is caused by the
polling operation. This occurs no matter which logging program I'm
using, so I'm sure it's either within the radio itself, or the IF-232C.
Question: Is this a normal occurrence, or is there a problem with the
radio and/or the interface?
Any comments/suggestions would be welcomed.
Darrell,
