[Kenwood] Kenwood redefines Warranty

From what I understand, the new "G2.0" firmware is really all about the
latest NMEA 3.0 standard. The new firmware supports this new message
standard. Same goes for the new rev of the D7A HT. You can tell
whether or not the HT and the mobile have this new firmware by the
"G2.0" sticker on the box. Having said that, the newer GPS units still
support the older message formats as well; you just have to select the
appropriate NMEA version you want to use via the unit's setup menus.

What new Garmin GPS are you trying to use? I have a very new GPS V,
and a D700 that is over 2 years old, They seem to get along just fine
with each other.
