Does anyone know why Kenwood apparently (?) designed the 950 so that the antenna input to the receiver is NOT fed thru the autotuner? I've noticed that using an external tuner (even an MFJ 989C) tuned to the required frequency can increase the incoming signal by at least 3 db (according to the S Meter anyway). Don't suppose there's any mod for this! 73's Joe, KX4JR
