[Kenwood] Problems with TS-830

Thanks to all who replied with excellent suggestions. I have fixed the
bandswitch problem with some DeOxit, so the problem was dirty contacts. (the
plastic couplers were all in great shape) I am now looking at adjusting TC1
on the IF board to help with the carrier adjustment. One thing to note- I
was using a second receiver to monitor my audio and transmitting into a
dummy load with the 830. Even with 12db's of attenuation and the RF gain
rolled back, I was still hearing the carrier. This was as much the fault of
the close proximity between the monitoring radio and dummy load as it was
the carrier adjustment being off. I am going to tweak TC1 for minimum
output and even if there is a bit of carrier left over, it will be inaudible
when I am on the air.
Thanks again!
