[Kenwood] TS-430 Readout

Dennis..
    I don't have a TS-430, but a friend of mine has TS-870 with a similar
problem. The digital read-outs on these(and other) rigs is set by an
opto-coupler. These apparently can go out of whack. I don't know if it's a
job that anybody other than a technician can tackle. So, I'd suggest maybe
calling your local candy store and explain the problem and see what they
think the problem might be, or if it's an easy fix.
BTW....my friend is a braodcast engineer and before that, was in his own
two-way commercial radio business. He's taking his 870 to the doctor's for
repair. :-)

Hope the above helps...
Darrell,

My TS-430 has a problem with the digital readout when I turn the vfo knob.
When it is cold it works fine. When it warms up it goes up the band whether
I turn it clockwise or counterclockwise. Sometimes when I turn it either
way it just blinks and stays on the same frequency. If I use the up/down
buttons on the mike it works fine. Any ideas? 73 Tnx
