Does the cable plug into the key jack?  If so, you will need an adatper for
blocked-grid keying.   The 830 requires a large negative voltage to trip the
keying circuit.  I was able to purchase an inexpensive kit from
http://www.radioadv.com/ham_radio_equipment/Accessories/BK170.htm .

I have a kenwood  ts 830s, and i'd like to know how can i use the lpt1 to
make cw with this radio.
i have a cable that i use in yaesu perfect, but dosen't work in the kenwwod.
I made the cable with the specifications that i saw in k1ea page, but for
kenwood i think there is a special skill.
