[Kenwood] TS-940 S-Meter Issue

Greetings everyone!
I have recently discovered that the S-Meter in my TS-940 does not want
to deflect any higher than about an S-3 on receive. However, it seems to
work fine for all of the other functions (full sweep on SWR when tuning up,
ALC deflection on meter, etc.) Even turning on the calibrate only makes the
meter deflect to the same S-3 reading. I'm guessing something is amiss or
out of adjustment in the receive circuit, as the radio seems to perform
beautifully otherwise. (Though if this problem is related to something
else, please let me know!) I have recently made a few contacts from my
college apartment with a 20m dipole, so I figure if I can hit Colombia and
Toronto from my apartment with a dipole that is actually a bit too short
according to straight-thru SWR readings, I'm not doing too bad.
Thanks & 73,
Chris, N9WIV
