Egon,

The TS-870 does not provide an amplified, filtered IF output for the
purposes of monitoring the received signal (like the TS-830 does).  The
'870 only has the broadband, unamplified 8MHz IF output for the purposes
of monitoring with the spectrum scope / pan-adaptor.

It would certainly be possible to tap into the filtered IF  of the 870
and buffer this out to use on a scope.  I haven't done it on mine, so I
can't comment on the results or best method.
