Help:
I recently broke my Hustler Rm-40 resonator that I have had for about 40 
years. It was one of the old gray ones.

Since it had worked so well for so may years I decided to repair it. I 
was able to salvage the end caps of the resonator only. For the phonilic 
coil form I used 3/4� CPVC pipe which is the same size as the phonilic 
coil form. On the CPVC coil form I close wound 24 feet 6 inches of .032 
coated copper motor wire. (a 3 1/2 inch close wound coil) This is the 
same length and diameter of the wire that was on the original phonilic form.

Using the same 54 inch mast and adjustable tip rods, it dipped out at 
about 6.2mc. I had to remove about 10 turn of coil to bring it up to 7.2mc.

The resonator will now take power, but only about 50% of what the 
original one did. I use a TS-50 as a mobile rig, and with the original 
resonator the power indicator would indicate ten when adjusted to its 
peak. But with the rebuild resonator it will only indicate five when the 
tip rod is adjusted to its peak.

Thank to any one out there that can give me some input to something that 
I have done or have not done right.
