[Kenwood] Kenwood TS-940S Display Problem.

Greetings,

My TS-940S just developed the dreaded display problem. When powered on the
display goes to all dots. Moving the VFO shows the frequency temporarily then
the dots return. Researching, I have found that this is typically either due 
to the PLL becoming unlocked or bad solder joints on the PLL board.  I have
found the fix for the PLL unlock online, but was wondering what points the RF 
probe should be connected to (i.e., what point does TP5 refer to).

Also, does anyone know what specific components on the PLL board should be
checked for bad solder connections.  Note that I don't have a service
manual so please be specific in your answers.
