[Kenwood] manual tuner for ts-820s

It would be a good idea to get one that has a thru/untuned switch position for
an external (or better yet, internal) dummy load.  You would use this position
to load up the Drive/Plate/Load controls on the 820, then switch to your antenna
and adjust the tuner for best SWR.

The MFJ-969 is a decent, inexpensive choice.  It certainly isn't the best, but
it does work and features the built in dummy load and cross-needle SWR meter.
Other decent choices would be from Palstar, Ameritron, Ten-Tec, Johnson (old),
and others.  Look for one with a roller inductor tuner rather than a switched
inductor.
