[Kenwood] H/T Security Problems?

I bought shoes that I thought had no metal in them.  I was wrong.
They have a small strip for support.  Had to take them off and
let the TSA folks run 'em thru the X-ray.  Sure nuff, they turned
out to be nuthin but shoes!  LOL!!

As for my FT-51R, no problem at all.  They opened my laptop carry
case (which is full of computer stuff, wires, etc.), and didn't even 
ask about the handheld radio.  They did ask about all the aerospace
ID badges and the ones from a few of those alphabet soup federal gov't
agencies.  I told them that the badges came from (read the name of the
issuing agency on the badge).  After the 6th badge, they waved their magic
detection wand around the case, put it into the reader and decided that
I was OK to ride on the airplane.

They did question the micro sized little tiny tool on my key chain.  It's
a micro version of those Leatherman tool some folks carry in  pouch on 
their belt.  The TSA guy said tools weren't allowed.  I asked if he
believed that I could disassemble a Boeing 757 with that tool in less than
2-1/2 hours (duration of the flight).  He smiled.  The case, tool and I 
all boarded the plane and completed the trip.  The only real problem on the
trip was the drunk in seat 2C...an obnoxious dude who insisted on trying
to nab a feel from the female flight attendant.  A couple of us convinced
the guy that he'd do well to behave or he'd spend the rest of the trip
tied up in one of the rest rooms.  He apparently saw the wisdom of that advice.
