[Kenwood] TM-D700 Mute question

The behavior that I've observed on my unit is that audio is only muted 
when there is activity on BOTH bands.  Only then will the non-selected 
band be muted.  It's not a true mute function, in the traditional 
sense...in that what you mute is completely silent until you unmute 
it.  It's more of a temporary audio attenuator of sorts....on-the-fly.
