[Kenwood] TS-930 won't change frequency

My TS-930 SAT won't change frequency.  When I first turn it on, after a 
week or so of dormancy, (It's the "cabin" radio) it displays 66666666's 
and then 11111111's and then dances another series of blinks. After 
twenty or so minutes it settles down and works fine. This weekend, the 
same, but now it won't change frequency when the dial is spun.  The band 
buttons don't work, nor does the one-meg up/down buttons. The programmed 
frequencies will change the dial readout when memory switch is turned 
and it switched bands, so it seems that the tuning is still working. I'm 
at a loss.
