Keith,

I believe that there is a 13 pin accessory plug on the back of the rig
(typically for packet) that you can use to run audio in/out for PSK31,
SSTV, etc.  The same jack exists on my TS-870S.  If the '570 is like the
870, you can set the audio levels of this port independent of your
volume and mic gain controls which is very convenient for those modes.
There is also a PTT for the packet port (PKS I think) which has the
advantage of muting the microphone input when used, so a live mic won't
interfere with your PSK/SSTV/etc. operation.

You will likely have to do a little impedance matching or voltage
padding to get the audio levels right.  It's as simple as a couple of
voltage dividers.  I've got quick webpage written up on various designs
of audio interfaces that you can build, as well as a few links to some
