Hello reflectees;
Here's an interesting scenario. While running some antenna tests this =
evening on my 4 RX antennas I noticed the following condition when I =
switched the NB on and off.
While the noise on the dipole is running around S6, NR is OFF, AGC =
setting is manual and set at 3 o'clock position, NB is OFF.. Upon =
switching the NB ON, the noise rose to S9.
I looked and examined this several times and saw the same thing every =
time. Since the first 18 menu settings either control or effect the =
receive portions and the DSP settings, I will give those menu settings =
at this time.

Has anyone else seen this scenario before? Can anyone explain what is =
happening?
I thought the NB was supposed to reduce the noise level---not raise it.
I seem to have a constant noise level of S6-S9 =
24/7/365..................I am currently working with the local power =
company to resolve the noise problem. All of my detection sources, =
checks and tests point to a main power line pole directly in front of =
the home with a pole pig/transformer on it. 15 feet away from the pole =
in a 360=B0 parimeter there is no sign of noise on an AM receiver. Get =
directly underneath the transformer 3' from the pole and rotate in a =
360=B0 circle and the noise is identical to that on the 870. The power =
company doesn't think or feel that this is where the noise is comming =
from.
Anyone with any ideas???????????????????????
