I agree with the old miniature electrolytics. Be sure and purchase low
ESR and high temperature rated replacements to delay their future
failures. Miniature electrolytics have never been a high quality
component and there's news in the computer industry that some new ones
are so bad that they fail by exploding or catching fire on some Chinese
made mother boards. I have a capacitor checker with a power factor test
and until I purchased the low ESR variety miniature electrolytics I
tended to reject many new capacitors for having an excessive power
factor, on the order of 10%, yet good capacitors had a power factor
under 1%.

It may be time to spend a few days in the radio replacing every aluminum
electrolytic. Dipped tantalum cost more but tend to last better.
