[Kenwood] ? abt Testing TS-520 DC-DC Coverter

Hello, all. I messaged a while back about running my TS-520 mobile. I 
have the DC cable, etc. and now have found that when I key in CW mode, 
the needle rises and falls, both while the key is down. In tune, it has 
output, but the needle waves. Could this be due to the vehicle 
electrical system not supplying enough current? I'd like to test the 
outputs of the DC-DC converter, but am not fluent enough to decipher the 
schematic. Would anyone be able to send me a lehman's guide to the 
converter? I'd very much appreciate.
