I needed one replaced, it was dead and about ready to leak. I opened it saw
it was a real pain to do and took it to a local radio shop last week. They
REALLY screwed it up and gave it back stating they could not do the job, I
don't know what to do now! I don't know if any service center would want to
deal with it but I love the radio.
If the battery is dead or starting to leak the display will start acting
funny and eventually just light up all segments. Now with the battery
removed if I power it up all segments are lit all the time. I also need to
have the control pannel worked on since I have been using the mic, some of
the buttons do not work. I got to see if anyone is willing to work on it at
a reasonable price. Yaseu's Quad Band radio is not all that expensive.
