[Kenwood] D700 questions

All,

I purchased a D700 a few months ago and I have a couple of questions that I 
am hoping the members of this list may be able to help.

1. I had heard from another D700 owner that a firmware upgrade was going to 
be coming out sometime in the (near?) future - does anyone know if this is 
true, and when?

2. Regarding the programming software  - has anyone figured out an easy way 
to import a list of repeaters into the software so they do not all have to 
be entered in manually?

3. Does the mute function work?  I use an external speaker, with both A and 
B going to the same speaker, but I have tried setting it up to have A go to 
the external and B to use the internal - but the MUTE has no effect on 
either channel?

4. I have noticed that on occasion when I key up I get no transmitted 
audio, but the carrier is transmitted.  I believe that this is a quirk 
regarding using the APRS beacon function (which I do) and having it set to 
only beacon if both A and B are receiving no signal.  I believe that what 
happens when this occurs is that the APRS tries to beacon at the same time 
I key up to transmit.  I changed the setting to beacon when the data band 
is quiet and I have not seen the problem occur since doing that (it may 
still occur but much less frequently).

5. Using the APRS I receive packets that have the dP and dS (duplicate 
position/stutus) indicator, but I also see a 'oM' indicator sometimes and 
can find no reference to this in the manual - anybody know what this is?

6. Is anyone aware of a 'hands free' headset that will work with this radio?

7. Are there any other known quirks/problems with this radio?
