[Kenwood] TS-520 with *Internal* Digital Display??

Good Day:

I am Bill Muckerheide, W5WM, in New Mexico.

I have a TS-520 with an *internal* red-on-red, 4-digit digital display, and
would like to know its history.

The Band digits are taken from the Band Switch, and it displays the 4 additional
digits, eg, for 28.025.5, it would read .0255.

The display replaces the white center panel on the face of the rig, and consists
of two small circuit boards that look nearly like a factory installation, they
are so well done.

I've tried several internet searches, with no luck.

Have you seen this before? Where did this feature come from? Any other history?

I'm planning on selling the radio, and would like to be able to accurately
describe the rig.
