If its the same TNC as in the D700, it can only hack receiving one frame
at a time. Most communications packet networks send more than one frame
at a time and there's not enough buffer space in the Kenwood TNC to
accept those extra frames or its logic faultily only accepts one frame
at a time. Which it then acknowledges while the node or BBS is still
sending other frames. If you can lengthen the time it waits before it
acknowledges (FRACK in my TNCs) to several seconds you will have a
better chance of it working. The default FRACK of three seconds is often
way too short with a node involved. Make FRACK 12 seconds for 1200 baud
and you should see a great increase in throughput.

One frame at a time is typical of APRS which it seems Kenwood designed
for without allowing for real packet.
