All,
My TS-930S recently died, and the autopsy revealed the common problem of power supply failure and blown finals. According to what I've read on this subject, the culprit is bad regulators in the power supply, which short and blow the finals. That seems to be the usual diagnosis. But I'm wondering if there could be another reason for the problem. The problem happened when I was checking out the antenna tuner on all bands, injecting a reduced signal while the tuner tuned. Could it be that the antenna tuner shorted and blew the finals and ps? Opinions please.
Wayne,
