I am trying like all heck to program my TH-D7A using
my computer, to no avail. I bought the official
Kenwood cord for this purpose, and I am unable to get
the computer to stop calling my HT nasty names like
"invalid radio" when I try to either read from or
write to my HT.
I know that a connection is being made, as the radio
speaker makes a quiet click when that error message
pops up. I have my port settings set to:
Bits Per Second: 9600
Data Bits: 8
Parity: NONE
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: Xon/Xoff
I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop, the serial port, and
have Windows ME. Anyone know what I need to do
differently? I'd like to start doing APRS, but I am
hesitant to buy my HT new toys to play with when it
won't play nice with the ones it already has.
Thank you for any light you can shed!
Sincerely,
Laura Block
