[Kenwood] TS-950SDX pitch range

Has anyone on this list ever looked into what might be required to lower the minimum CW pitch in the TS-950SDX from the factory spec 400 Hz to a lower value, say 300 Hz?

The pitch control is a potentiometer that sends a variable DC voltage to an A/D converter who's output provides data to the microprocessor.  Presumably there's a look-up table somewhere that establishes zero VDC as 400 Hz.  My guess is that the lookup table would have to be reprogrammed with a different set of values (either spreading a wider range of pitches over the existing DC voltage range or lowering the highest selectable pitch by an amount equal to that by which the low end is lowered below 400 Hz).  If the lookup table is built into the microprocessor chip or is otherwise inaccessible to anyone other than Kenwood, then some alternative "trick" solution would be necessary.
