[Kenwood] two tone test question

I am fixing to check out my SSB signal from my TL 922.  I'm using a Kenny SM
220 scope.  I plan on using the two tone trapezoid method, and have a couple
of questions relating to that:

With the TL 922 in CW mode for this test, can I simply inrease/decrease the
xcvr audio gain level until the trapezoid is "right"?

I assume I also set the xcvr rf gain until the trapezoid is "right".  I
believe that increased amp power out doesn't change the shape of the
trapezoid, only the size (while maintaining linearity).  Is this correct?
