[Kenwood] RE: ts 830 8pin din socket

Thanks for the responses so far. I failed to mention
in my first posting, that the 8 pin din sockets on the
back of the TS830 for the vfo/xvtr and remote are special
type sockets. They have a switch that is molded to the socket
that changes over internal circuitry in the radio when an
accessory plug is inserted. I was told that these sockets
were made special to these radios. Kenwood, and their out-
source suppliers say that they are no longer available.

I can get regular 8 pin din sockets. Found lots of sources, there.

I want to keep the radio original (it's mint, other than this socket),
so I'm not interested in cobbling up an external switch.

I'm probably only going to be able to find a used one from
somebody.
