I have run FSK with my TS-850S and a PK-232. It is a little more complicated
than AFSK due to keying, etc. It takes TWO cables from the TS-850S vs. one
for AFSK. I have also run FSK using another lash-up and software. Much
cheaper, much easier. The PK-232 and KAM are pretty much VERY old tech.

However, using a TNC and AFSK just involved a single cable. There is the
issue of distortion in AFSK that was previously mentioned.

If you have never done any of this, it would sure help if you could find an
"Elmer" in your area with a similar lash-up who could help.

BTW, I have friends who are in AF MARS and none of them appear to be running
any form of digital gear. They all check into an HF net on a recurring basis
and that is it.

GL,

Steve
