[Kenwood] TM-231A Tone Options...

Hello all. A friend just acquired a TM-231A 2m mobile unit, and is =
wondering how the CTCSS was standard/optional in this unit. Kenwood =
tells him it was all standard, however, it will not work on his, and =
compared to a friend's similar TM-531A, the tone board is missing.

I am wondering if anyone would have info on the part number for the tone =
unit, and possibly a source of one. Kenwood says that they are out of =
production, and are no longer available.=20

Any help appreciated.
