[Kenwood] Good rigs for power line noise

The clue in the earlier report is that the noise was S6 on 30M and was 
audible on the higher bands, this indicates that it is likely close by. The 
beauty of then using the 450 rig to isolate it is that you have get within 
100 ft or so of the noise and you can usually tell with the hand held's 
beam not just which pole it is but which insulator is leaking.

Noise sources on 160M is another matter all together. By the time you get 
down to 160M the noise can actually set up in standing waves on a power 
line and travel for miles. If you don't hear the noise on your beam on 20 
but it is killing you on 160 ( I had this once with a "pole pig" over 1/2 
mile away)  then it is usually not close by. In the case of 160M and 
sometimes 80M you may have to do a lot of walking to find your problem.

Having said all that finding noise sources is as much an art as a science.
