[Kenwood] Info needed on Kenwood IC-10 Interface

Greetings all,

My XLY just mandated rearranging our computer area/shack, which resulted in
my TS-440 being placed on a shelf which is too high for comfortable
operating.

I was thinking about trying to find an IC-10 to put into the rig, but don't
know anything about it.  I understand that it's discontinued (for quite some
time) but that the chips might be common and available from other sources.

I'm also curious as to whether it interfaces with the serial (I assume) or
parallel port, since my computer's parallel port already looks like the
creature from the black lagoon.

Finally... what about software?  Is there something out there that works
okay?  Being lazy and over tasked already, I need to make this as much
plug-and-play as possible!
