	      You really made your decision based on that?  You could have
asked around on the mailing list for an electronic copy of the manual.  I
have many of them myself (including the 570).  Even if you had to buy a
manual, for a $1000+ investment, I would think $20 is a small price to pay
for something that might make a difference between getting something you
want to keep or have to dump at a loss in a few months.  
	     Anyway it looks as if Kenwood did not intentionally want to
keep the files from the public, it's just working out the bugs from changing
web page styles.  BTW what Icom rig did you get?

	Roy, I'm sure you're right, but it is stupid to do it that way. 
	Moreover, I don't see anything that looks like even a *dead* link to
the manuals, etc. I just bought a new HF rig...I didn't buy a TS-570 because
I *really* wanted to be able to read through the instruction manual before I
bought the rig. You can listen at HRO, and you can skim the manual at HRO,
but I wanted to study it. I couldn't...so I bought an Icom.
