[Kenwood] RC2000 question

I hooked up the RC2000 to my TS2000X tonight.  I have been familiarizing 
myself with the functions.  I MUST be missing something, but I can't find how 
to get the tuning steps to be <1kHz on SSB/CW.  The menu choices step from 1 
to 10 kHz, which is OK, but the "Fine" takes about 8 clicks to move 1Hz!  If 
I need to be at 14.027.53 it will take all night to get there from 14.027.00!
