Hi Kenwoodians... I purchased a TL-922A about a month ago and have been
too
busy to hook it up til now... Since then I've misplaced the manual so
would
like some instructions and opinions from a 922 owner.
I hooked it up to an TS-830S tonight and some things seem very weird...
High Voltage seems to drop excessively when operating...
CW position, from 2200v to 1800 when relay is activated and even lower
when transmitting.
SSB position, 3300v turn on to 2400 when relay is activated and 2000
when transmitting
a carrier. Amp is hooked up to it's own 240v designated heavy wire
source. (#12x3)
Grid current goes off the scale when trying to drive with 100 watts.
Max drive about
60 watts carrier to keep I.g mid scale... (what is max recommended grid
current?)
Max output of Amp, approx 700 watts with I.g midscale. Supposedly
almost new tubes.
Woops.... now I hear some sizzeling inside to amp. (like a cap.
bubbling) Shut it off !
Still sizzeling for a while..... What am I doing wrong? Power supply
caps fried?
Help and opinions would be greatly appreciated... TNX & 73, Les,
