A few days ago, I posted a short commentary about the TS-2000, generally a
positive note but pointing out some flaws in the HF performance of the rig.
Shortly afterwards, I received an excellent note from Scott, W9AL, who
suggested that the noise blanker (which I leave on all the time) can add
significantly to the adjacent-channel distortion. I've been unable to test
his suggestion (no contest right now, and I haven't seen a good SSB pileup
since then) but I wanted to pass this along to the rest of the group. My
previous post ended by saying "I would love to hear about tweaks that reduce
the adjacent-station distortion, which would take this rig right to the top
of its class." If Scott's suggestion works in my hands, then my feelings
about the TS2000 will be even more positive.
