The big trouble with bouncing the virus to the supposed source is that
the latest virus spoof address and what they show as the originating
address (unless you really dig deep in the header) is NOT where it came
from, so you propagate the virus by your erroneous bounce. Over the
weekend, one recipient bounced one such virus back to me. It claimed to
have been sent by Outlook Express (NOT ON MY COMPUTER) at a time when my
computer was turned off (by the line switch on the UPS). My ISP scoured
the headers and found it came from someone at AOL. Infecting another
system solves nothing other than the plans of the virus creator.
