[Kenwood] RASCAL psk/rtty interface with TS2000 problems

I am having a problem getting the TS2000 to key and output audio going
through the RASCAL.  software is either MMTTY or WinPSK and I am using COM1
with no logging software running.  When I toggle the Rx/Tx buton with either
package, the red light on the rascal comes on indicating that it senses the
computer serial port signal.  However the rig does not key and I see no
indication of audio getting into the rig, same condition if I manually hit
the foot switch.  I fed the Line Out into a separate computer and it sees
the audio.

Receive audio does get into the software and either rtty or psk gets
correctly decoded.  Is there something that I need to enable for the rig to
sense signals on the Accessory jack?  I looked at the manual and did not see
anything obvious.
