It also works well with the new Dell laptops. I use it to talk to a music
synthesizer that is too old for anyone to make a USB adapter for....you can
also find the critter at many musical instrument sites, under the MidiMan
brand name.

There is a very good USB to serial adaptor that I have found that works
great with my Toshiba T-5005. I have 3 USB ports and also a serial PCMCIA
card (Comm 4). The adaptor is a model UC232A that can be found through most
computer supply stores on the internet. I run my packet systems on two USB
ports and the old Ham Windows program on the serial card with no problems.
So don't fret about serial interfaces, there is an adaptor out there and it
