Your TS-830S is working PERFECTLY. On CW it shifts the carrier up 800 Hz
so its in the middle of the receiver passband. That way you can transmit
zero beat with received signals without having to copy with no beat
note. Its just perfect as it should be. Unlike Yaesu VHF that moves the
receiver down 800 Hz for CW without changing the display.
