[Kenwood] Need help with TM-231A

Well, my wife (who's a ham) ended up helping me spill coffee in my
TM-231A.  Now it doesn't work.

When I turn it on, the screen comes up to "23-.222 *2" (where the 23 are
small letters and the asterisk is a star in the memory channel).

I've taken it apart and cleaned it (it didn't get too much inside
anyway, just the buttons).  I've also tried to reset the rig to no
avail.

I'm not opposed to replacing a part to get this going again.  Does
anyone have a good guess about what's wrong and what I could replace?
